Two get life in prison for killing night guard in Brahmanbaria

A Bharmanbaria court on Tuesday sentenced five people to life term imprisonment for killing a night guard of a bank during a robbery in Ashuganj of Brahmanbaria in 2020.
The convicts are Jamal Hossain of Bogoir village and Jamir Hossain of Araisidha village in Ashuganj upazila. They were present at the dock. The court also fined the duo Tk50,000 or two years more in jail in default.

Brahmanbaria Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Md Abdul Hannan passed the order and awarded ten-year jail to another three people who are absconding in this connection.
According to the case statement, the convicts killed the victim Rajesh Biswash while committing a robbery at Brahmanbaria’s Ashuganj branch of Bangladesh Development Bank PLC (BDBL) on 24 September 2020. The branch manager Mobassher Hossain filed a case on 26 September over the matter.
Public Prosecutor Advocate Md Deen Islam said “The verdict in the murder and robbery case is satisfactory. If justice is conveyed this way, the trend of crime will decrease in the country.”
