Bashundhara Group, a business conglomerate known for its visionary initiatives, continues to inspire and support the dreams of many people. Renowned for its commitment to the welfare of the country and its people, the group stands out as an organisation that goes beyond business to uplift communities.

At a recent sewing machine distribution ceremony organised by Bashundhara Shuvosangho in Brahmanbaria’s Bancharampur, speakers and participants praised Bashundhara Group for its noble deeds.

The event also featured a surprise announcement of new stipends to support beneficiaries in pursuing their education, delivered by Imdadul Haq Milan, noted author, chief editor of the Kaler Kantho, founder of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, and director of the East West Media Group Limited.

The ceremony, held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, was chaired by Bashundhara Group advisor Mainal Hossain Chowdhury. Special guests included Bancharampur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muhammad Abul Mansur, former Upazila Parishad chairman Md Dudh Mia, Assistant Commissioner (land) Md Nazrul Islam, and Bancharampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mohiuddin.

Moderated by Kaler Kantho Bancharampur upazila correspondent Md Chan Mia Sarker, the event saw participation from Bashundhara Shuvosangho Director Zakaria Zaman, local journalist MA Awal and Ashek Emram, and beneficiary Mehnaz Akter, who delivered the welcome address.

One of the beneficiaries, Sinha Haque Saima, received a sewing machine after completing a three-month training course. A student at Shah Rahat Ali College, Saima had been struggling with frustration and sadness, as she was raised by her maternal grandparents and faced numerous hardships. Learning about the free sewing training course offered by Bashundhara Shuvosangho gave her new hope.

The announcement of education stipends further brightened her outlook, allowing her to dream of a better future.

The story of Saima is echoed by many beneficiaries who have been empowered by Bashundhara Group's initiatives. The group's efforts have shown them a ray of hope and taught them to envision a brighter future. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude and prayers for Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and his family.

During the event, Imdadul Haq Milan reiterated Bashundhara Group's commitment to the welfare of the country and its people. He highlighted that, unlike many other business organisations, Bashundhara Group actively engages in welfare-oriented activities, spending significant amounts to assist those in need. The group has made a substantial impact by providing interest and service charge-free loans, which have helped over 26,000 women achieve financial independence in the region.

Milan also mentioned that the educational expenses of ultra-poor, meritorious students are being covered by the Shuvosangho, enabling many to study at prestigious institutions, including medical and engineering colleges and public universities. He added that the group's efforts will ensure these students contribute to the country's development in the future.

Milan further said that there are 20 Shuvosangho schools for disadvantaged children in the country’s remote areas.

“These schools are situated in inaccessible areas. Shuvosangho teams regularly oversee the activities of the schools. The sewing machines distributed by Bashundhara have opened up the doors of comfortable lives to women. None can stop the advancement of the country where women move forward.”

Zakaria Zaman emphasised the group's dedication to public welfare, working towards economic stability for the underprivileged and supporting students in their educational pursuits.
He also said that educational expenses are being distributed among the ultra-poor meritorious students through the Shuvosangho. “Many of them are now studying at medical and engineering colleges as well as different public universities.

Getting established, these boys and girls will one day work for people’s welfare. Then and only then, the country will move forward. Only Bashundhara Group dares to do such noble deeds.”
Advisor Maynal Hossain Chowdhury noted that Bashundhara Group swiftly responds to the needs of the less fortunate, providing monthly financial assistance to 98 madrassas around Bancharampur. He urged beneficiaries to take care of the sewing machines provided to them, viewing them as tools for a decent life, and called for prayers for the well-being of Bashundhara Group’s chairman and his family.
