Price of good quality gold has dropped by Tk1,283 to Tk1,17,177 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a reduction in the price of pure gold on the local market.

The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Saturday, reads a press release.

The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk10,046 per gram, 21-carat Tk9,589 per gram, 18-carat Tk8,219 per gram and traditional gold Tk6,795 a gram.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
