A 40-year-old man was beaten to death over a longstanding enmity between his cousin and another clan in Jashore's Sharsha upazila on Friday.
The victim was identified as Saiful Islam Mukul, a resident of Kanyadah village in Sharsha upazila.

Police arrested three people in connection with the murder, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sharsha police station Sheikh Moniruzzaman said.
The arrestees are UP Member Hasan, 35, son of Yunus Ali; Taj Uddin, 45, son of the late Karim Box; and Kamruzzaman, 37, son of Atiyar Rahman.
According to the locals, Amjad Ali's daughter, Afroza Khatun Meem, 14, of Kanyadah village, and Anisur Rahman's son, Nayan Hossain, 18, have been in love for a long time.
When UP member Hasan came to know this, he took it as a chance to take revenge on his old enemy. Later on Wednesday night at 10pm, 10–12 people, led by UP member Hasan, went to look for Nayan at the house of Nayan's cousin Saiful Islam Mukul.
At that time, after not finding Nayan, they started beating Mukul and his brother Bakul mercilessly, leaving them injured.
The locals rescued them and admitted them to Jashore Sadar Hospital for treatment. Seriously injured Saiful Islam Mukul was sent to Dhaka for better treatment as his condition worsened.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries in the small hours of Friday while undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical Hospital.
A case was filed at Sharsha police station based on a complaint lodged by the victim's family member.
The arrestees were sent to court, said the OC, adding that the operation is on to nab the rest of the accused.
