Jahangirnagar University (JU) stands out from other educational institutions as it is surrounded by great beauty. Many people throng there to get some relief from the summer heat. The immense beauty of trees like Jarul, Krishnachura, Sonalu and Cassia Renigera in the 700-acre area of the university is capable of refreshing anyone’s mind.

A perfect combination of culture and natureBashundhara Shuvosangho held a cultural event titled “The hottest day in the city” to give some relief to the students in the scorching heat.

Organised by the members of the university branch of Shuvosangho, the programme began at 5:00 pm on Thursday (16 May) at the university's Chhabi Chattar area. According to the organisers, along with the natural beauty of the university, the event’s song, dance, and poem touched the hearts of the participants and spectators. There has been a huge response among the students.

Rafid Hasan, a student of the university who came to enjoy the programme, said, “There is a beautiful decoration. It was great to see such a beautiful and healthy cultural programme after a long time.”
Prof Ahmed Reza, director of the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of the university, was present on the occasion.

He said, “When the mind and soul are tired in the heat of summer, this kind of cultural event helps to wake up the mind. Nature becomes more beautiful with the touch of people.

That was shown by the members of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Jahangirnagar University branch. They have decorated the square so beautifully. This programme seemed to be not only entertainment but also the brilliant talent of the Jahangirnagar students.”
