The 38th conference of Federation of Bangladeshi Association in North America (FOBANA) will begin in Detroit in the US state of Michigan on 30 August.
The event will continue until 1 September. The announcement was made at a press conference at Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday.

Former chairperson and outstanding member of FOBANA Bedarul Islam Babla read out a written statement on behalf of FOBANA Chairman Atiquer Rahman and Executive Secretary Dr Rafiq Khan.
He said that there will be special seminars and discussion meetings in this conference, where the real history of the Liberation War, the history of the sacrifice of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the brave freedom fighters will be presented to the expatriate Bangladeshis.

Renowned educationists, journalists, writers and researchers and other eminent persons will take part in these seminars, he added.
FOBANA’s Goodwill Ambassador Dr Subarna Nawadi moderated the press conference while former FOBANA chairperson and outstanding member Zakaria Chowdhury, its Bangladesh Liaison committee co-chairman Rimon Mahfuz were also present there.
