In an unexpected incident, Roksana Islam Chameli, a reserved seat councillor for the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), attacked Farid Uddin Ahmed Ratan, councillor for ward-20, with her shoes during the 25th board meeting of the DSCC.

The meeting presided over by DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, took place on Monday with other councillors present.
According to an anony

mous DSCC councillor, the attack occurred at around 12pm while Mayor Taposh was addressing an agenda item in the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Auditorium in Nagar Bhaban.
“Chameli suddenly stood up from her seat in the back row and struck Ratan, who was seated in the middle row. The entire hall was stunned. The mayor then ordered Chameli to leave the hall,” the councillor added.

Sources have indicated that the altercation may have stemmed from a prior conflict between Ratan and Chameli, involving a leaked video of Chameli in a private moment with a young man. This incident likely exacerbated tensions between the two councillors.
However, Ratan denied any prior enmity with Chameli when speaking to the media.
