Online English learning course launched in Sitakunda

With an aim to improve English speaking proficiency of the school-going students, Chattogram’s Sitakunda upazila administration has launched an online English speaking course.
With financial support from MFJF Foundation and through online course of 10 Minute School, the speaking course was inaugurated on Saturday by the overall arrangement of the upazila administration.
This initiative is the first of this kind at the upazila level in the country. As many as 25,000 students of about 150 primary and secondary schools under the upazila will be taught advanced English speaking, said a press release.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) KM Rafiqul Islam, who has taken the initiative, was present at the event as the chief guest. 10 Minute School CEO Ayman Sadiq and its Chief Instructor Munzereen Shahid attended the programme virtually.

S Mustafa Alam Sarkar, upazila secondary education officer, presided over the event.
MFJF Foundation Chief Adviser Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, Sitakunda Upazila Assistant Commissioner (land) Alauddin, Upazila Education Officer Mohammed Nurussofa, Upazila ICT Assistant Programmer Abdur Rahim, and other officials of various departments, along with headmasters, teachers, and students were present among others.
