Candidates of the third phase upazila parishad election in Bogura are set to start their election campaigns as they got their election symbols on Monday.
Returning Officer and Additional District Election Officer Syed Abu Sayed allocated the symbols to the candidates for the post of chairman, vice chairman and vice chairman (reserve) in Bogura Sadar, Shahjahanpur and Shibganj upazila at 11am on the day.
In Bogura Sadar, district Jubo League President Shuvashish Poddar Liton received the pineapple symbol, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Abu Sufian Safiq got the horse symbol and district Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Sultan Mahmud Khan Roni got the motorcycle symbol.

A total of 16 candidates are contesting for the vice chairman post and two candidates for the vice chairman (reserve) post.
Four chairmen, five vice chairmen and four vice chairmen (reserve) candidates received the poll symbols on the day from Shahjahanpur upazila.
Two chairmen, five vice chairmen and six vice chairmen (reserve) candidates received the polls symbol from Shibganj upazila.
The third phase upazila election is scheduled to be held on 29 May.
