Rabeya Khatun Foundation felicitates Bannya

Rabeya Khatun Foundation has honoured the eminent Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, who has recently received India’s prestigious “Padma Shri” award from the Government of India.
A reception ceremony was held at the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel InterContinental Dhaka on Sunday evening. Faridur Reza Sagar and Shykh Seraj congratulated the iconic singer with floral greetings on behalf of Channel i.

President of Rabeya Khatun Foundation and children’s writer Amirul Islam, president of Sammilito Sangskritik Jote Golam Kuddus, president of the Jatiya Kabita Parishad Dr. Muhammad Samad and poet Tarik Sujat, also felicitate Bannya.
Prof. Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Mahfuz Anam, Syed Mohammad Shahed, Soumitra Sekhar, poet Kamal Chowdhury, singers Shaheen Samad, Rafiqul Alam, Abida Sultana, and state minister for cultural affairs Naheed Ezaher Khan also attended the reception.   

Bannya was awarded India’s fourth highest civilian honour, the “Padma Shri” for her distinguished service in the field of art.
This year, the Indian government awarded 132 distinguished people for the Padma Awards. Five of them received the “Padma Vibhushan”, 17 received the “Padma Bhushan” and 110 received the “Padma Shri” award, including Bannya.
