AMU panel vows to digitalise accessories and packaging industry

Active Members Union (AMU) election panel of Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) has pledged to work to digitalise, accelerate, and improve the country’s accessories and packaging industry.
It announced a 20-point election manifesto at a recent event titled “Your rights to empowerment through voting, our success” held at a hotel in Dhaka.
BGAPMEA election 2024–26 will be held on 11 May in both Dhaka and Chattogram regions.
AMU panel leader and Managing Director of Poly Plan Limited Nasirul Alam said, “After 33 years of establishment, the BGAPMEA, the country’s apex trade body in the apparel sector backward linkage industry, is going to hold elections for the first time.”
Nipa Group Managing Director and Member of Parliament of Dhaka-18 Constituency Md Khosru Chowdhury introduced the 21 candidates of the AMU at the event.
Former MP of Brahmanbaria-4 constituency Advocate Shah Alam and Vice President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Arshad Jamal (Dipu) were present as special guests.
