The Election Commission on Thursday served a show-cause notice to chairman aspirant Lutful Habib for his alleged involvement in the beating of the chairman candidate in Singra upazila polls.
On Monday, miscreants took Delwar Hossain in a car and left him injured near his house when he went to the Natore district election office after submitting his nomination form online.
The election commissioner has asked him to appear in person at the EC on Monday to explain as to why his candidature shall not be cancelled.
