Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan won’t take part in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League, the country’s traditional Dhaka-club-based List A tournament, any further.
A top official of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited confirmed the development to The Daily Sun on Wednesday adding that they are not worried about the decision.
“Shakib won’t take part in DPL any further for us. We are not concerned about it as we won eight matches out of 10 games. Shakib was available in only three games for us. We would certainly miss his experience but we are hopeful that we can manage even without him,” said the Sheikh Jamal official requesting anonymity.
Shakib featured in three DPL matches in the ongoing edition where he made 106 runs at an average of 35.34 and also took six wickets.
Shakib is expected to feature for Sheikh Jamal in the next edition of DPL as he inked a two-year deal with them.
