Member of reserved seats for women in parliament Hasina Bari Chowdhury on Tuesday said that there must be coordination between development projects in order to reach the goal of building a smart Bangladesh.
“We carried out many development projects but due to lack of coordination in planning and implementation, we can’t reap more benefits,” she said.
She was addressing the concluding ceremony of a training programme on ‘Infrastructure for Building Smart Bangladesh’ for members of Urban Journalists Forum, Bangladesh at a hotel in the capital.
Urban Journalists Forum, Bangladesh and China Enterprises Association in Bangladesh jointly organised the programme.
The woman lawmaker urged journalists to highlight different shortcomings in the process of building a smart Bangladesh.
“We had a vision of digital Bangladesh which we have achieved. Now, we have to set a new aim of smart Bangladesh. We have to work towards translating the vision of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina into reality.”
Speaking on the occasion, President of Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh Ke Chanliang said, “Our association represents more than 280 Chinese companies and more than half of them are involved in infrastructure development in Bangladesh.”
He said that China will continue to invest in Bangladesh for infrastructure development.
President of Bangladesh Institute of Planners Adil Mohammed Khan and President of UDJFB Motin Abdullah were present, among others.
