Seven nabbed from city house with huge arms

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has seized a huge number of arms, including pistols and magazines, from a house in the capital’s Vatara area.
Police also arrested seven people in this connection on Saturday. The arrestees were identified as Rasheduzzaman Khan Raju, 35, son of Aman Khan, Rakib Hossain Munna, 32, son of Shamim Hossain,  Sharikul Islam Khan, 45, of Shariat Khan, Md Azim Patwari, 34, son of  Badiuzzaman Patwari,  Md Mahbub Khan, 35, son of  Shukur Mahmud, Sharif Khan, 33, son of Akkas Khan,  and  Md Sohrab Khan,33, son of Azizul Islam. All of them possessed the arms.
The law enforcers claimed that they recovered   two foreign pistols, a foreign made revolver, a foreign made short gun, an  old revolver with parts from a bathroom near the family graveyard of Khapara Raju.
They also recovered two rounds of cartridges of shotgun, 210 rounds of shell casings, five old magazines, 40 grammes of gunpowder-like substance, 60 pieces of small parts of various weapons from the spot.
 The Chief of DB police, Hurun-or–Rashid, came up with the statement while addressing a press conference at DMP Media Centre in the capital.
On 18 March, police arrested Rasheduzzaman Khan Raju and Rakib Hossain Munna for firing Md Rubel Hossain with a pistol following a quarrel over number plates of rickshaw at Jomoj Road in Joarsahara.  
  DMP said that  in order to arrest the accused involved in the crime and recover the firearms, the aforementioned accused were arrested by conducting raids in different places of Gazipur, Madaripur and Dinajpur districts with the help of Intelligence sources.
