Prachyanat brings ‘Achalayatan’ on stage today

Theatre troupe Prachyanat will stage its much-acclaimed production ‘Achalayatan’ at the main auditorium of National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) this evening.
Written by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the 42nd production of the troupe has been directed by Azad Abul Kalam.
The play revolves around an educational institution named Achalayatan. It depicts the eternal conflict between old, rigid, restraining values, free spirited and revolutionary ideas.
‘Achalayatan’ tells the story of two siblings, named Panchak and Mahapanchak have quite views. Panchak is rebellious while Mahapanchak adheres to traditional beliefs.
The probable cast of the play includes Shatabdi Wadud, Sanjida Prity, Chetona Rahman, Shahna Rahman Shumi, Shahed Ali, Zahangir Alam, Towfiqul Islam Emon, Saiful Islam and others.
Achalayatan was premiered on 6 January last year on the concluding day of the six-day theatre festival titled “Aly Zaker Natuner Utsab”, which featured five new plays produced by theatre troupes, namely Hridmoncho, Theatre Factory, BotTala, Tarua and Prachyanat.
