A college student was stabbed to death and his friend injured during an attack by their ‘friends’ at Mugda in the capital early on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Pias Iqbal Noor, 23, an honours second-year student of accounting department at Kabi Nazrul Government College. The injured individual is Mohammad Shamim, 24.
Iqbal Hossain, the father of the deceased, said that some friends of his son called Pias from their house at about 10pm on Thursday. Later, locals saw his son and Shamim lying in the pool of blood.
Kamrul Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Mugda Police Station, told the Daily Sun that a murder case was filed and police arrested a person named Ornab.
