Rakibul Islam is currently studying at Bashundhara Shuvosangho School. His father died in a road crash when he was a five-month baby. His elder brother was then three years old. Under this situation, their mother Ratna Begum faced immense difficulty with two children. Later, she (Ratna) was compelled to go to her father’s house along with two sons.
There, she also lived a miserable life due to lack of financial solvency. Then, sending two children to an orphanage, she went to Dhaka to work in a garment factory. Meanwhile, Rakib and his brother did not agree to stay in the orphanage. Their grandfather and grandmother brought them home from the orphanage. Zahidul Islam, the grandfather, in his 70s started pulling a rickshaw for the education of his grandchildren. Though it was possible to manage food for the children with the low income of the grandfather, their education became uncertain. At that time, Bashundhara Shuvosangho School took the responsibility of education for Rakib. Now he is a student of Hapunia Para Shuvosangho School in Bogura. Also, a local madrasa took the responsibility of his elder brother.
