An under-construction building and a cold storage was gutted in a devastating fire in the port city on Friday.
Sources in Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) station said the fire broke out at the ‘Taja Multipurpose Cold Storage’ of S Alam Group adjacent to Power Development Board (PDB) office at Syed Shah Road in the city's Bakalia area at around 10:45am.
On receiving information, ten firefighting units of three different stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after a frantic effort at around 2:05pm, said Assistant Director Md Abdul Malek of Chattogram FSCD Station.
