The major opposition BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep condolence at the death in the Bailey Road fire incident and said the lack of rule of law in the country causes such devastating incidents and disasters.
“If there is no rule of law in the country, accidents and disasters keep happening. The government is not accountable to the people. As a result, anarchy prevails in the society, so many accidents happen and people lose their lives,” he said in a written statement on Friday.
Mirza Fakhrul expressed deep sorrow over the fire incident at the commercial building on Bailey Road in the capital that claimed 46 lives and injured many.
