Former national chief selector Minhajul Abedin is all set to work as the chief coordinator of Bangladesh Cricket Board programmes, a BCB official said on Tuesday.
Minhajul will work with the head of BCB programmes David Moore to ensure that they have quality development programs in place for the cricketers.
“He (Minhajul) along with Moore will oversee the planning, devising strategies and implement those on High Performance Unit and Bangladesh Tigers programmes. It will eventually provide benefits to the national team,” the BCB official told The Daily Sun without elaborating further.
BCB earlier appointed another selector Habibul Bashar as the head of BCB women’s wing.   Minhajul was in the selection panel since 2011 and he was appointed the chief selector in 2016. Meanwhile, Habibul was previously with the women’s selection team but later took the post in the men’s panel in 2016.
Recently, Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu has been appointed as chief selector while Hannan Sarkar replaced Habibul in the selection panel.
Abdur Razzak, who joined the committee in 2021 after Sazzad Ahmed decided to step down from his post, retained his place in the selection panel.
