Rangpur Riders will be looking to confirm their berth in the final of the 10th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League when they take on Comilla Victorians in the first qualifier at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.

Rangpur, who won the BPL title back in 2017, failed to qualify for the final since that event though they came close to reaching the final in the last edition of the tournament.
However, they lost to Sylhet Strikers in the second qualifier last year which dashed all their hopes of playing in the final for the second time in their history.
This year, Rangpur have showcased top-notch performance in the ongoing BPL as they finished on top of the league phase points table with 18 points from 12 games.

Rangpur look to seal BPL final berth tomorrowRangpur had a slow start in the competition as they won only one out of their first three games but since then, they won eight successive matches before losing the final league game to Comilla in Chattogram.
Rangpur’s talismanic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who struggled during the initial phase of the tournament, is now the top contender to win the player of the tournament award for the fifth time in BPL history as he has already scored 249 runs while he also picked up 17 wickets so far.

On Saturday, Shakib had a long batting session at the nets during his team’s practice session at the Bashundhara Sports Complex and he will definitely be the key man for Rangpur to end their six-year wait to reach a BPL final.

Meanwhile, Rangpur’s opponents Comilla also enjoyed a decent league outing in the tournament as they won eight out of their 12 games and finished second in the league phase.
Although the four-time champions lost their last league game to Fortune Barishal, they can still be a tough opposition for Rangpur on any day.

The winner between Rangpur and Comilla will directly qualify for the final on 1 March but the losing side will get one more chance to book their place in the final as they will play in the second qualifier against the winning side of the eliminator contest between Barishal and Chattogram Challengers.

The eliminator between Barishal and Chattogram will start at 01:30pm (BST) while the first qualifier between Rangpur and Comilla will begin at 06:30pm (BST). T Sports will air both matches live.
