Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) on Tuesday said that the forthcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL), the country’s Dhaka-club-based list A tournament, will begin on 9 March.
The players’ transfer will be held on 28 and 29 February.
The tournament will be played in four venues including BKSP 3 and 4, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and Fatullah Cricket Stadium.
There will be no foreign players in this year’s DPL due to the dollar crisis.
Many of the players have complained that they are yet to receive payments for last season from the clubs.
“From our side, we have penalized where there was need and today (Tuesday) we have taken another step for penalization after talking to the players and the clubs,” CCDM chairman Mohammad Salahuddin told reporters on this day.
One club had a performance clause where payment could be cut according to performances.
“There was a clause that they could cut salary and the players agreed to it and signed it. Players should be careful about signing these kinds of agreements,” Salahuddin concluded.
