Four-day DC conference to start on 3 Mar

A four-day annual conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) will begin in Dhaka on 3 March, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Md Amin Ul Ahsan said on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the morning of that day, he said.
Following the inaugural function at PMO, the four-day conference will take place at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
On this occasion, the deputy commissioners will meet with the President, the chief justice, and the speaker to receive instructions from them.
Mentionable, ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister, state ministers, and secretaries attend the DC conference chaired by the cabinet secretary as representatives of ministries and departments.
Due to the pandemic, the conference could not take place in 2020 and 2021.
The conference, however, was held on 18 to 20 January in 2022 and 24 to 26 January in 2023.
DCs conference is an annual meeting of the heads of districts with policymakers of the government aimed at discussing policy matters and development strategies to gear up the field-level administration.
