More than 150 differently-abled persons of Sunamganj district down have received high quality blankets as a gift from Bashundhara Shuvosangho, a social welfare organisation of Bashundhara Group.
The children and their parents are happy to receive the blankets amid the shivering cold.
In particular, the guardians urged the Bashundhara Group to stand by the neglected people of Haor area with more humanitarian assistance.
Azad Hossain of Sunamganj town came with his 11-year-old son Omar Hossain to take blankets from Bashundhara Shuvosangho. Omar, who is physically challenged, sat with others amid biting cold. There was a smile of satisfaction on his face when the Shuvosangho members presented him with a blanket.

Sunamganj are experiencing shivering cold this year compared to the past.
“Poor people are suffering a lot for lack of warm clothes. We’re very happy that Bashundhara Shuvosangho has gifted us blankets this time,” he said.
Nipu Barman, father of six-year-old physically challenged Bandhan Barman of Nabinagar, also came to the programme. Sharing the experience, Nipu Barman said the family is yet to get any support from any other organisation other than
Bashundhara.
“Bashundhara Shuvosangho gave my son a quality blanket. This blanket has come in handy during the winter. We pray for Bashundhara Ggroup. May they bring help to our poor again and again,” he said.
