Three alleged members of the banned militant organisation Ansar al-Islam have been arrested from Dhaka and Chattogram.
The members of Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police and the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) arrested them on Monday and Tuesday.
The arrestees are Siam Shoaib Jeem, 19, Shahidul Islam, 18 and Muntasim Ahmed Tawsib, 18, a ATU press release informed this on Thursday.
The joint team of the ATU and the DGFI arrested Jeem from Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital around 10:30pm on Monday. Based on his information, the rest duo was arrested from Chattogram on Tuesday.
The arrestees used to work as mediums between the militants in jails and outside.
