Rangpur Riders will be looking to clinch their first win in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League when they take on Sylhet Strikers during their second game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.
Both the teams started their tournament campaign on a losing note as Rangpur conceded a five-wicket defeat to Fortune Barishal while Sylhet lost to Chattogram Challengers by seven wickets.
Rangpur received a big boost ahead of the contest as their Pakistani recruit Babar Azam arrived in the capital on Monday night and he is expected to feature against Sylhet today.
Babar’s arrival is a huge relief for Rangpur considering the fact their ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan left Dhaka on Sunday for Singapore to have eye treatment again.
Meanwhile, in the day’s second game, Barishal will take on Comilla Victorians at the same venue.
