1,306 sued over traders' clash with cop, DSCC staff

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has filed a case against six traders and 1,300 unnamed individuals in relation to the assault on a mobile court team during an eviction drive at a Khilgaon market on Sunday.
DSCC worker SM Hafizur Rahman filed the case at Shahjahan Police Station. The six traders are Abul Kashem Kha, 45, son of Hossain Ali, Abdul Latif, 38, son of Hasan Ali, Nasir Mia, 40, son of Nur Islam, Shahin, 30, son of Joynal, Emon, 28, and Joynal.
 DSCC Public Relation Officer Abu Nasher confirmed it on Monday.
In the case statement, the DSCC worker said a mob of 1200 to 1300 led by the six attacked the magistrate, DSCC workers, police and ansar men who were there to maintain law and order.
DSCC worker SM Hafizur Rahman, police inspector Mahidul Islam, constable Md Mehedi, and ansar man Nurul Islam were reportedly injured in the attack.
DSCC Executive Magistrate Muniruzzaman said that they visited the market following an order to vacate it for development work as the structure is in danger of being collapsed.
