NRB Bank chairman honoured with CIP status for 11th straight year

Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman, chairman of NRB Bank Ltd, and chairman and managing director of Al Haramain Perfumes Group of Companies, UAE, was honoured as commercially important person (CIP) by the government recently.
Mahtabur Rahman received the award from Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad at a ceremony at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital recently.
He achieved the CIP status for 11 consecutive years.
From his family, his spouse Bayzun N Chowdhury, director of NRB Bank, his son Mohammed Emadur Rahman, director of Al Arafah Islami Bank, daughter in law Farhana Ahmed, shareholder of NRB Bank, younger brother Mohammed Oliur Rahman, director of NRBC Bank, and two nephews Dr Mohammed Ehsanur Rahman and Mohammed Ashfaqur Rahman, both directors of NRB Bank, were also honoured with CIP status for their outstanding contributions to the country’s economy, said a press release.
Rahman has clinched the title of the highest remittance sender among the remitters through proper channel for 2021 and 2022 in the NRB Category, the statement added.
