Muktadir Ahmed and Sumaiya Akhtar emerged champions in the men’s (10 km) and women’s (7.5 km) categories of HM Salim Run 10K 2024 marathon, organized by the Pinnacle Sports Association, at the city’s Diabari area on Friday.
 Muktadir took 46 minutes to cover the men’s 10km distance while Sumaiya took 40 minutes to cover the women’s 7.5 km distance.
Sohail Rana and Mohammad Hriday became first and second runners-up in the men’s category while Nazmunnahar Bithi and Jahanara Akhtar became first and second runners-up in the women’s category.
A total of 572 men and 443 women took part in the day’s marathon event.
Pinnacle Sports Association Chairman Hossain Mohammad Salim, who is also an Imam of Hezbut Tawheed, was present on the occasion as the chief guest.  
Pinnacle Sports Association Advisor Khadija Khatun, General Secretary Riyal Talukder, former General Secretary SM Samsul Huda and other distinguished personalities and sports enthusiasts were also present on the occasion.
