Electoral campaign on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held in Kotalipara on Thursday, the last day activities before twelfth parliamentary election.
The Awami League president is contesting with boat symbol from Gopalganj-3 (Kotalipara-Tungipara) constituency. Leaders and workers of Awami League and allied organisations joined a public meeting at Majbari West Kotalipara Union Institution ground in the upazila after campaigning in different unions from Thursday morning. AL advisory board member Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed was present at the public meeting in Hiran union as the chief guest while PM’s uncle Sheikh Kabir Hossain spoke as the main speaker.

Former Senior Secretary Shahid Ullah Khandker was the special guest on the occasion. Khandker is designated representative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to oversee development works in her constituency Gopalganj-3 (Tungipara-Kotalipara).

AL Gopalganj district unit president Mahabub Ali Khan, Kotalipara upazila unit general secretary Ayanal Hossain Sheikh, vice-president Golam Kibria Dariya, Hiran union election steering committee convenor Hannan Sheikh, Tungipara upazila vice-present Ilius Hossain, Munir Hossain, Hiran union parishad chairman Mazaharul Alam Panna were present among others at the meeting.
Senior leaders of Awami League of Gopalganj district, Kotalipara and Tungipara upazilas were present at the meeting. Sabuj Sheikh, a college student who came to the public meeting, said that the he want to cast his first vote this year.

“I will be the first to vote in the 12th National Assembly elections. I would like to cast my first vote on the boat symbol,” he said.
Hiran union parishad chairman Majaharul Alam Panna said that there were held public meetings in 11 unions and 1 municipal area in Kotalipara upazila on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Addressing the programme, Shahid Ulla Khandker said that every political party announces its manifesto before the national assembly elections.

“Awami League is the only party in Bangladesh which has come to power and acted according to its declared manifesto. And because Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is in the leadership, these have become possible. The country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a role model for development,” he said.

Sheikh Kabir Hossain said that Sheikh Hasina has shown his excellence as daughter of Bangbandhu through conquered the sky through satellite
“Sheikh Hasina is not only save Bangladesh but also achieved area from the sea than the equivalent of Bangladesh without shedding blood. She restored peace in the hilly areas by settling the chaos. Bangabandhu's daughter has won everything in this country,” he said.

Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed urged the voters to go polling centres to support boat symbol.
Meanwhile, AL Kotalipara upazila unit’s organizing secretary Kamrul Islam Badal and patron Jahangir Hossain Khan went door to door in various villages of Bandhabari union and conducted mass communication in favour of the boat symbol.
