Bangladesh head coach Javier Cabrera said on Monday that their upcoming two FIFA Friendlies against Afghanistan would help them prepare well for the forthcoming joint qualifiers round one of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
“We actually wanted a strong opposition that will help us to prepare for Maldives play-offs. We are going to have a good opposition before the big assignment. We are really happy that they came with all of their main players,” Cabrera said.
The friendly matches will be held on September 4 and 7 respectively at the Bashundhara Kings Arena.
On Monday, Bangladesh completed their training session at the Bashundhara Kings Arena while Afghanistan took part in their first practice session at the APBH field in Uttara.
