The twenty-third biennial conference of International Consortium for Social Development (ICSD) concluded at Gavle University in Sweden on Friday.
Gavle University Prof Fereshteh Ahmadi made keynote session on examining racism and hostility towards immigrants while ICSD President Manohar Pawar made welcome address on the occasion, said a press release.
“Welcoming nearly 100 delegates from 22 countries, ICSD president Manohar Pawar posed the issue of multiple crises occurring today and challenges and opportunities they present for much needed global social development,” Dr Mostafizur Rahman, vice-president of ICSD, told Daily Sun.
The president also conferred prestigious James Billups International Social Development Leadership Award to Leila Patel, a distinguished professor of Johannesburg University in South Africa, and James Midgley from University of California, Berkeley in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the field of social development.
