Female doctor dies of dengue

A female physician died of dengue infection at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday.

The deceased is Dr Dewaan Almina Mishu, a 46th batch student of Mymensingh Medical College. She died around 1:00am at the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of the DMCH.    Dr. Mishu has recently completed her study as a resident student (39th batch) of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Bangladesh Institute of Child and Maternal Health (ICMH).

The Health and Family Welfare Ministry and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) expressed deep shock at the death of Dr Mishu.

Earlier, several other persons from different other professions, including a government official, died of dengue in the country. 

SM Nazia Sultana, senior assistant secretary of the commerce ministry (WTO wing), died of dengue at a hospital in the capital on July 25. Nazia was eight-month pregnant.
