Bangladesh Under-19 team once again levelled the five-match youth one-day international series against their South African counterparts after they beat the tourists by four wickets during the fourth match at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Friday.
Left-arm spinner Rafi Uzzaman Rafi was the star of the contest he took 5-18 while pacer Rizon Hossan (3-24) and Wasi Siddiquee (2-23) claimed the remaining five wickets as the hosts bowled out the visitors for just 128 runs in 35.2 overs after they elected to bowl first.
Chasing a below-par target, Bangladesh batters also didn’t start well as they were reduced to 78-6 in the 18th over after Liam Alder took three wickets for the visitors.
Skipper Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby and Md Ashrafuzzaman then both scored 25 runs each and shared an unbeaten stand of 53 runs for the seventh wicket to take the junior Tigers to 131-6 in 29 overs and level the series 2-2.
The series-deciding fifth and final match will be held at the same venue on Monday.
