Bangladesh are all set to include Rony Talukdar in their squad for the remaining two matches of the ODI series against Afghanistan.
A top BCB official confirmed the development to The Daily Sun adding that they need to have a third opener in the team after the post went vacant following the sudden retirement of ODI’s skipper Tamim Iqbal from international cricket.
“Rony will be drafted in the squad as we need to have another opener in the squad considering there is no Tamim Iqbal for us,” said the official, adding that Liton Das is expected to lead the side while a new captain will be announced soon with all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan being the top runner for the post.
Bangladesh lost the opening game against their counterparts by 17 runs in D/L method at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday. They will play the second and third game at the same venue on July 8 and 11 respectively.
