Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for industrial development in the country.
DCCI President Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar and BSCIC Chairman Md. Mahbubor Rahman signed the document on behalf of their respective organisations on Monday..
During the signing ceremony, DCCI President Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar said that according to the MoU, DCCI’s new membership enrolment renewal and Country of Origin (CO) services will be integrated with the One Stop Service (OSS) portal of BSCIC.
He also informed that BSCIC’s OSS currently provides 29 services of its own and 13 of other organisations.
Moreover, according to this MoU, any Dhaka-based member of BSCIC can be a member of DCCI, he added.
Later, he said, “If we cannot implement the MoU in practice, it will remain only as a signed document and no one will get any benefit out of it.”
BSCIC chairman Md. Mahbubor Rahman said, “BSCIC was established by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in order to expedite rapid industrialisation in the country.”
He believed, “The MoU signed today will help facilitate industrialisation in the country. Besides, the MoU will act as a bridge between the members of BSCIC and DCCI for greater business integration in future.”
DCCI senior vice president SM Golam Faruk Alamgir (Arman), vice president Md. Junaed Ibna Ali, director (skills & technology) of BSCIC, Kazi Mahbubur Rashid and DGM (Technology) & Head of ICT of BSCIC Engr. Md. DelwarHossain were also present during the signing ceremony.
