The SAFF General Secretary Anwarul Huq Helal confirmed that all teams including Pakistan got clearances from the hosts India to take part in the upcoming SAFF Championship 2023, scheduled to be held from June 21 to July 4 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, India.
The announcement came after an emergency meeting of the SAFF committee on Thursday where the representatives of the hosts All India Football Federation ensured to give clearances from the Indian government for all participating teams.
“No visa complications. The hosts confirmed to us that they ensured to give clearances from the Indian government for all participating teams including Pakistan, Kuwait and Bangladesh,” Helal told The Daily Sun after the day’s meeting.
“Now it is up to the Pakistan government whether they will allow their team to visit India. But the representatives of the Pakistan Football Federation informed us that they will get that approval within the next one or two days. Bangladesh and Kuwait have already got visas,” he concluded.
