The ‘Club Deportivo Bangladesh’ will compete in Argentine Football Association (AFA) affiliated leagues from next season, though the tier is yet to be fixed.

The club named after Bangladesh launched on December 16 last year in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires two days before the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France.

The club officials sat on a view-exchange meeting with the Bangladesh community in Argentina, around 2000 immigrants on Tuesday.

The club also unveiled both home and away jerseys and presented a brief plan of their goal and vision to the Bangladeshi residents in the meeting.

“Official meeting of the leaders of the Bangladesh Sports Club of Argentina with the fans of Bangladeshi residents in Argentina. A great night presentation of this new club and a great pact of commitment and friendship, together for an international dream,” CDB wrote on their official Facebook page.

The club selected the colour of Bangladesh’s national flag – red and green – for their logo and jerseys.

The portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahaman and the Father of Argentina Jose de San Martin have been put on the right and left shoulders of jerseys.

Also, the portrayals of the Bangladesh map, Jatiyo Smriti Soudho (the National Martyrs’ Memorial) and the face and signature of Argentine football legend Diego Armando Maradona have been put on the front and back side of the jerseys.
