‘Punnaho’, the much-acclaimed production of theatre troupe Natyakendra, will be staged at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) this evening.
Written by Badruzzaman Alamgir, the play has been directed by Yusuf Hassan Arko.
The story of the play revolves around a village named Kakorgachi and its people. One day, the village was destroyed by a storm and the villagers think that there is a sinner in the village and that’s why the storm strikes the village. Finally, they began to search for the sinner. As a result, every person in the village stood against each other immediately after the storm. Thus the story of the play continues…
‘Punnaho’ is the 15th production of the theatre troupe.
Natyakendra was launched in 1990. Founded by Tariq Anam Khan, the troupe has till date brought out a number of popular productions such as ‘Tughlak,’ ‘Sukh,’ ‘Jera,’ ‘Protisoron,’ ‘Projapoti,’ ‘Dalim Kumar,’ ‘Mrito Manusher Chhaya’ and ‘Dui Je Chhilo Ek Chakor.’
