‘Kobitay Bangabandhu’ at Shilpakala today

A special programme titled ‘Kobitay Bangabandhu’ (Bangabandhu in Poetry) will be held at the Music Recital and Dance Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) today, marking the 50 years of Bangabandhu receiving Joliot-Curie Medal of Peace.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was awarded the medal on May 23, 1973. 

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Distinguished recital artiste and member secretary of the Bangladesh Recitation Artists Association Rupa Chakraborty is the convener of the programme.

 About the event, Rupa Chakraborty said, “On the 50th anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s receipt of the Joliot-Curie Medal of Peace, Bangladesh Recital Artistes Association is organising this special event. The programme includes discussion and recitations of poems on Bangabandhu. I express my gratitude to honorable state minister for cultural affairs and authorities of the BSA for their cooperation.”
