Pace bowler Khaled Ahmed replaced injured Rejaur Rahman Raja in the Bangladesh A team squad for the second unofficial four-day game against their West Indian counterparts, scheduled in Sylhet from May 23.
Raja injured his head during the opening four-day game and as a result, he was ruled out from the series comprised of three unofficial Test matches.
Khaled is seeing this as an opportunity to prepare for the one-match Test series against Afghanistan, scheduled to start on June 10. “I am not playing red-ball cricket for a long time so this is a big opportunity for me (playing the second four-day game against West Indies A) to take preparation for the Test series against Afghanistan,” Khaled told reporters in Sylhet on Sunday.
