Bangladesh U-19 cricket team suffered a four-wicket defeat to their Pakistani counterparts in the lone T20 match at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Wednesday.
It was the third series in a row when the junior Tigers lost to Pakistan. Bangladesh earlier suffered a crashing 10-wicket defeat in the one-off Test series in Chattogram before they lost the five-match YODI series, held respectively in Chattogram and Rajshahi, by a 4-1 margin against the same team.
On Wednesday, Bangladesh, however, showcased some competitiveness against the visitors both with the bat and ball after being sent into bat first.
Opener Jishan Alam struck 52 off 26 balls with five fours and four sixes while Ariful Islam made 30 runs as Bangladesh posted 159-5 in their 20 overs. Ahmed Hussain took 2-25 for the Pakistani side.
In-form pacer Iqbal Hossain Emon removed Pakistani batter Shahzaib Khan (0) early during their run chase but Shamyl Hussain and Arafat Minhas scored 67 and 41 runs respectively to guide their side to 160-6 in 19.1 overs to complete their all-format series win over the junior Tigers. Emon claimed 3-23 while Rohanat Doullah Borson finished with 2-39. The visitors are scheduled to leave for Pakistan today.
