Tomorrow’s SSC exams under six boards postponed

Six education boards have also postponed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations slated for tomorrow.
The education boards are Chattogram, Barishal, Cumilla and Jashore, Madrasa and Technical education board.
An order signed by Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chief of the inter-education board coordination committee, disclosed the new decision on Saturday.
Earlier on Friday, all these boards but Jashore have postponed today’s examinations due to the severe cyclone Mocha.
The exams of the remaining boards would take place as on the schedule time while the schedule of the postponed exams would be announced later, the order added.  

A total of 20,72,163 candidates were supposed to sit for this year’s SSC and equivalent exams, according to the Ministry of Education.
However, some 30,000 candidates have remained absent from the examinations so far.
According to the declared routine, SSC under nine General Education Boards and SSC and Dakhil (Vocational) under Technical Education Board will end on May 23.
And the written examinations under Madrasa Education Board will end on May 25.
The exams are being held in 3,810 centres across the country for students from 29,798 schools, madrasas, and technical institutions, and some 374 students are taking part in the exams abroad.
