RAJSHAHI: A 10-day Skill Development Training for 173 Ashrayan beneficiaries began in Naogaon aimed at making them self-reliant through various income-generating activities, reports BSS.
Raninagar Upazila Administration and Upazila Youth Development Department jointly organised the training programme at Upazila Parishad Hall room supported by the Ashrayan Project-2 (Poverty Alleviation and Rehabilitation) project.
Participants of the training course will be given ideas and knowledge on five trades like domestic poultry birds rearing, fish farming, cattle rearing, beaf fattening and vegetable farming on homesteads.
Lawmaker Anwar Hossain Helal inaugurated the training course as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shahadat Hossain in the chair on Thursday.
Upazila Chairman Abdur Rouf, Vice-chairmen Zarjish Hassan and Farida Begum and Upazila Youth Development Officer SM Kamruzzaman also spoke on the occasion.
In his remarks, Anwar Hossain said the present government under the dynamic and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been ensuring fundamental rights of the homeless and landless families through implementation of Ashrayan Project throughout the country.
In Phases, all of the landless and homeless people will get brick-built houses as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has a commitment of doing the same successfully.
Simultaneously, all the rehabilitated beneficiaries will be brought under need-based training for their self-reliance.
