Green activists in Barishal have urged the government to increase allocation for the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan reducing investment in fossil fuel projects.
Addressing a rally in the metropolitan city on Thursday, the speakers also put impotence of prudent policy support for achieving the target of renewable energy.
MAP executive director Shuvankar Chakraborty, Prantojon executive director SM Shahazada, AROHI executive director Khorshed Alam, NVS executive director Shawkat Ali Badal spoke the programme while CAB Barishal coordinator Ranjit Dutta presided over the session.
The cabinet approved the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan in February aimed to implement 30 per cent energy from renewable source by 2030 and sent percent by 2050.
