Dengue cases are increasing across the country as 51 more patients were admitted to different hospitals with the mosquito-borne virus in the last two days of this month.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said 27 new dengue patients were hospitalised across the country, including in Dhaka in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning.
Of the new patients, seven are from outside the capital.
Earlier, 24 dengue patients were hospitalised on Monday.
Meanwhile, a total of 78 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the county. Of them, 62 patients are in Dhaka city, said the DGHS.
The number of new dengue patients was 143 in April while 111 on March across the country. Two dengue patients died in April.
The DGHS report further said so far 1,037 dengue patients were detected and 11 died in the country in 2023. Of the total, 514 dengue patients were hospitalised in the capital during the period.
