Former national tennis champion Shovon Jamaly, aged 55, breathed his last on Tuesday in Canberra, Australia after battling colon cancer for a long time.
Shovon, who was the son of former general secretary of Bangladesh Tennis Federation Masud Hasan Jamaly, represented Bangladesh in Davis Cup 10 times from 1986 to 1999.
Apart from it, Shovon also played in junior Wimbledon and junior US Open.
He also clinched three national singles titles and two doubles titles in his playing days. The BTF expressed its profound shock at his death through a press release.
