Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan won’t be available in their three-day practice camp at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, scheduled on April 27-29.

Shakib has already left for the USA to be with his family and he along with Liton Das and Mustafizur Rahman will join the national team in England to play a three-match ODI series against Ireland, which is also part of ICC World Cup Super League.

Liton and Mustafizur are currently taking part in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Bangladesh have already qualified for the next ICC World Cup in India later this year but a three-nil win for the hosts against the Tigers will ensure their direct qualification for the global event.

Meanwhile, members of the Bangladesh ODI team will depart for Sylhet today in order to start their preparation for the upcoming series.

Head coach Chandika Hathurusingha planned to hold the camp in Sylhet ahead of the series as it will allow the Tigers to prepare in wickets similar to England considering the SICS are known for producing fast and bouncy wickets.

While the Tigers are scheduled to start their preparation in Sylhet, it was not the same case with Hathurusingha and Mushfiqur Rahim as the duo spent a busy time at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.  Mushfiqur was busy batting in the academy nets and he was also seen batting on the granite slab.

Hathurusingha also spent time with members of the BCB medical team to get fitness updates of certain cricketers while he also chatted with members of the BCB’s cricket operation department.

The head coach is expected to have a meeting with the national selection panel today to discuss their next course of action.

Bangladesh will depart for England on May 1 and the three ODIs are scheduled respectively on May 9, 12 and 14 in Chelmsford.
