Brothers Union Ltd and Gopalganj Sporting Club were promoted to the next Bangladesh Premier League as they became champions and third-placed in the ongoing Bangladesh Championship League 2022-23.
BFF Elite Football Academy finished the runners-up, but they won’t get promoted according to the bylaws. The team mainly was formed by the federation itself with their age-level players of the academy only to increase the numbers of the teams in this second-tier league.
Brothers bagged a total of 48 points from 19 matches and Gopalganj SC 34 points from 19 matches. Both teams will have their last match today at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur.
Brothers, who were earlier relegated from BPL in the 2020-21 season, didn’t participate in the previous BCL 2021-22. However, they returned to football this year and got promoted to BPL as they confirmed the BCL championship with one match to spare.
Little Friends Club and Swadhinata Krira Sangha were relegated to the Bashundhara Group Senior Division Football League as they finished at the bottom of 10th and 11th places in the 11-team points table.
Little Friends earned 11 points from 20 matches while Swadhinata KS bagged 19 points from 20 matches.
